Who This Is For:
Performers of all levels and anyone with a passion for stage expression. All genders and identities are welcome!

Performance Creation Series Overview:
WEEK 1: Body Awareness & Performer Identity
Students explore their physical instrument, discover their artistic identity, and begin shaping the story they want to tell.
Focus Areas:
Body Awareness: alignment, breath, intention
Performer Identity: movement journaling, persona exploration
Story Building: emotional themes, narrative seeds
Music Selection: tone, pacing, emotional resonance
WEEK 2: Training Foundations & Choreography Tools
Students level up their physical training, build endurance, and learn the foundations of choreography creation.
Focus Areas:
Endurance Training: stamina, repetition, musical pacing
Foundational Movement: walks, transitions, turns
Choreography Skills: 8‑count structure, phrase building, 5 elements of choreo
WEEK 3: Character Embodiment & Sensual Expression
Students learn to embody character, express sensuality with intention, and bring emotional depth to their movement.
Focus Areas:
Character Development: persona, backstory, movement qualities
Sensual Expression: control, presence, emotional nuance
Embodiment: connecting character to choreography
WEEK 4: Costume, Crafting & Character Integration
Students learn how costume design supports storytelling and begin integrating costume elements into movement.
Focus Areas:
Costume Design: silhouette, color, movement safety
Crafting Skills: embellishment, alterations, prop handling
Character Integration: moving with costume pieces
WEEK 5: Choreography Creation, Stagecraft & Audience Connection
Students build their full piece, learn stage geography, and practice connecting with an audience.
Focus Areas:
Choreography Creation: building a complete performance
Stagecraft: expanded to include:
Understanding stage zones (A/B/C zones, power zones)
Entrances & exits
Sightlines & visibility
How to “read” a stage quickly at a venue
Audience Connection – eye contact, timing, emotional projection
WEEK 6: Strut Your Stuff with Peer Review + Getting Booked 101
Students perform their solo presentation
Feedback: instructor + peer review
Reflection: identifying strengths & next steps
